Hi everyone,

It's act by Kristen Dunst and Paul Bettany.
The story is about love story of a tennis player.
The one of scene is "Lissy"(Dunst) give will power to "Peter"(Bettany) before he going to play the final match. She told him that " You should to go up there and decide what's you are"
I think it is good phrase for everbody who want to be win their mission.
If you have seen before, I hope you have same idea with me.

*** Beer :P ***

How did I cope ?

In the past, I usually read the subtitle of the film but now I pay more attention to listening what they talking about. Sometimes I cannot get the words or not understand about the new vocaburary, slang word I will read the subtitle.

No Post

It's a little sad that no-one has used this space since last week. Why? =o(

You can write what YOU want on here as long as it's in English and about something English language related (can be very loosely related)

Anyway, today you did a self assessment of your speaking. I used this style of assessment because I think it's really useful for you to understand what we, examiners and teachers, are looking for in all your work. I think it can also help you to reflect and decide on how you can improve on your performance and learning, for next time. Any reflections, you can write them here. Please do.

Your homework this week is to watch a movie and share with the class the problems you faced and how you dealt with these problems. Don't forget to also mention the positive things, what you understood, useful phrases that you liked, think you might use, etc.

Also if you didn't do your writing last week you can hand it to me next week or e-mail it if you prefer.

Well done, lots of hardwork today - I'm tired for sure!

Any feedback, comments or questions about this blog, classes, assessment, English language, anything really(!) please speak up, I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Ed

Feedback

I thought most of you did very well in our last class I was pleased with how the most of you applied yourself to the tasks at hand and worked hard to speak. I thought the presentations were good. Well done. Did you think they were worth doing? Or a bit of a waste of time? What would you do differently next time?

I'm looking forward to recieving your letter(s) it'll give me a good chance to assess your current writing level and it'll be a decent bit of work for your portfolios, by the time we've finished working on them.

Next week I really will do a little present perfect v past simple revision stuff and we'll continue with the speaking theme, looking at ways of opening and continuing conversations. If you'd like me to, I can collect your workbooks in and have a quick look through what you've been doing in them (if anything at all!).

cheers,
Ed

2. Hobby- man don't like shopping but woman loves it
3. The patient- woman can pregnant and give birth but man scared even little needle.

Sawaddee Teacher Edward

My name is Phongsathorn Lueangsasiphong, my nickname is Buddy.I'm 16 years old.I study at Triamudom suksa school. In my free time,I offten listen to a radio and I love 105.5 FM very much because it can help me to improve my English skill and sometimes I love playing piano , I have learned piano for 12 years. My favourite sport is soccer I tried to play soccer when I was 6 years old but I hadn't have time to practise so I stopped to play soccer when I was 12 years old but I like to watch soccer matches and my favourite team is Barcelona.I have studied English at British council for 2 years and I love it very much because teachers in this school can make me good in English and I can meet new friends at this place.
Today is 12 August,it is very important day because it is "Mother day" and I have a very fantastic poem from Howard Johnson.
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold ;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.
Good luck,
Buddy

Men & Women are Human

I think there's no definitions can be cover how Men or Women different ,except in physical.

We can find millons of imperfection from both sexes depends on how you compromise in each situation and there won't be any good side or bad side becuase you compromise.

We have gotten human nature.

So, How important you are Men or Women?

Is it right?

Freedom of speech?

Dear all,

I have taken the step of deleting two anonymous posts from these boards. I think the content wasn't appropriate - too mush swearing and negativity. It wasn't even funny! There was no effort to write in good English and I couldn't understand it. If you have jokes that's great, share them, I like a laugh, but they should be funny (and written in understandable language).

Anyhow, I'm not a facist or a dictator or a fan of censorship but what was here before was just rubbish and deserved to go! I hope you agree with me and are not offended by me removing something from what is your blog.

Perhaps you should establish some rules for your blog. What do you think?

Regards,

Edward

The differences between men and women.

Dear All,

"Men are HERO, Women are HEROINE"
"Men are FATHER, Women are MOTHER"
"Men are RUDE, Women are SWEET"
"Men have BIG body, Women have SLIM body"
"Men DON'T LIKE Make up,Women LIKE make up"
"Men wear ONLY trousers, Women wear BOTH trousers and skirt"

Finally, I think that both men and women are equal!

Cheers,

Wi

What is the different between men and women

Dear All
The first man and woman were occured on the World when GOD built them at EDEN garden. Do you know what it is the different between men and women?
The mainly cause come from sexaul hormones that have effect in physical and mind. You could clearly look their physical by yourself. Men has a bigger and stronger body than women. He also run fast than her but she could tell him run as fast as she wanted.
Women's emotion is very sentitive. She can do everything if she love somebody and She love man only one. In other hand, He likely love women more than one. Women could go shoping and enjoy its all time that she has a plan to buy something or not but Men always plan to buy something before buying. How does she or he drive a car? Almost of Men always drive a car so faster than women.
However, the different between men and women is good if we know its and can adapt to fit to them.

See you

Recap

Dear Students,

Sabai dee mai(s!)? How was the class for you yesterday? Useful?
I thought most of you did well though some of you need to use class time better - take advantage of the opportunity to practise your English!!! Also use your teacher as a resource more if you're having problems. We will do a little more on the present perfect next week. If you're still doubtful then try the workbook at home, I can collect/correct your workbooks next week if you'd like.
Also you can check this link from www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/

http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/grammar/learnit/learnitv92.shtml

This week you should post a personal profile (if you haven't already) - this is so we can know a little about each other.

And post something about the differences between Men and Women....Please do interact with each others messages but don't get nasty!! (not that you would ;0) )

Have a think about these quotations / expressions to get you started:

"men are from Mars - women are from Venus"
"you can't live with them, you can't live without them"
"behind every good man there's an even better woman"
"men marry women just like there mothers"

Lastly, next Sunday the BC is open so I hope to see you there. Any questions or comments please post here or contact me at the BC.

^_^ Nice to Meet You

Hi! All,

I'm 'Aom'(ออม), Nattanee Charoensuksomboon.
Nice to meet you, new classmates; and glad to see you again, Edward and my old classmates.

I'll be 20 years old in very soon. Now, I'm studying in the second year at Chulalongkorn University in faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, department of Statistics and branch of Information Technology for business.(haha.. so sorry if you maybe confused my education.) I was born in Bangkok and live here until now.

My hobbies are playing internet, reading books(especially cartoon books), listening to music and watching movies or dramas. I like Korean dramas very much and my favourite Korean actor is Won Bin. You may have ever heard his name from his very well-known drama, Autumn in My Heart or รักนี้ชั่วนิรันดร์ in Thai. I also want to learn Korean language. Listening to music is also my very favourite, I'm a fan of Groove Riders, one of Thai band, and have concentrated waiting for their live which was postponed from this week. I don't know when there is the concert because they haven'n told any schedule after postponing.

Well. the reasons why I choose to study English is absolutely for improoving my English. I have a plan to study abroad, maybe USA, in master degree. I think learning at British Council will push me more learning by myself too. The biggest problem of mine is listening, but I don't mean other skills haven't any problems, I just think that listening is very a important thing when living outside Thailand. I have to understand what they say before I reply anything.

There will be a class tomorrow, see you all^^

Hi, everyone - from Moo

Hi, everyone.

I’d like to introduce myself in Level 4.1 classroom at British Council Pinklao Branch. My name is “Sutthipong Meeyai” and my nickname is “Moo”. I’m a traffic/transportation engineer. I work for an engineering consulting company. Most of the jobs are traffic impact, transportation planning, and infrastructure design, for example, road, expressway, bridge, and subway. Some of them also include feasibility study which is an economic and financial analysis.

I plan to further study abroad; I think UK is my favourite place. If everything is OK, I mean my English scores, it may be a few year. I sometimes work with foreigners so I know my English isn't yet very good, it must be improved.

It’s nice to meet you in this class.

See you very soon,
Cheers.
